The Upper Amman Valley is at the heart of a beautiful and fascinating area, full of sights and stories which can rival anywhere else in the country.  We have prehistoric burial sites, medieval castles, myths and legends and an important industrial heritage.
The busy towns of Ammanford and Pontardawe offer supermarkets, high street shops, weekly markets and leisure centres and Swansea is only 15 miles away.  The historic town of Carmarthen is under an hour away by car.

The River Amman has its source in the western part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, now designated as a Geo-park, which is of international importance for its geology, impressive waterfalls and landscapes.  The vast expanse of open moorlands gives this valley its own unique identity and sets it aside from other South Wales valleys.

There really is something for everyone within easy reach of the Amman Valley.
